  1. Hi,
    I’m in Oregon ,US,
and, after seeing the barn owl in our almost empty old barn, was wondering if we should even enter the barn in the lower level to get some stuff / close up the windows or just stay away altogether?
We put up the box for her but only after a year saw her in the barn.
    Thank you
    Theresa

    • Hi Theresa,

In the UK, Barn Owls are especially sensitive to people in their immediate nesting / roosting areas (so much in fact that it is illegal to disturb Barn Owls in the UK without the appropriate licences).

My advice would be avoid it if possible, especially in bad weather. The quieter the barn the more likely the owls are to use it.

      Hope that helps!
      Seb
